Storing your Wild Sockeye Smoked Salmon in the Gold Seal Pouch
Our smoked wild Alaskan salmon have a shelf life of approximately four years and require no refrigeration until they are opened. Once opened, they will last 4-7 days in the fridge. Think of the pouch like a "flexible can" – as long as the pouch is not punctured, leaking or opened, the product inside will stay good for at least 4 years. Even this is conservative, as long as the pouch is intact.
Storing your Traditional Pacific Northwest Salmon
Keep frozen until ready to use. Thaw under refrigeration at 38°F or below. Once thawed, keep refrigerated for up to 21 days. Once you open a pouch, please enjoy it within 5 days.
Storing your Coho Lox
Pouches can be kept in the freezer for approximately 6 months. Once thawed, keep refrigerated for up to 30 days. Once you open a pouch, please enjoy it within 2-3 days. Serving- Your lox style smoked salmon is ready to serve and enjoy. We recommend serving it with crackers, slices of your favorite artisan breads, soft mild cheeses, thin slices of apple, sliced onions and capers. Also, try dipping Nova in a mix of soy sauce and wasabi - Japanese horseradish). When choosing a wine, we recommend a nice refreshing white, such as Pinot Gris.
Storing your Wild Salmon Burger Meat
Freeze or refrigerate upon arrival. Wild Salmon Burger Meat can keep unopened in the freezer for up to 3 months, unopened in the refrigerator for up to 7 days, and opened in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. We do not recommend re-freezing after this product has been completely thawed, as you may begin to lose flavor. Thawing- The best way to thaw your Burger Meat is to leave it in the refrigerator overnight (in its tub), allowing at least 8-10 hours. Trying to rush the process by thawing at room temperature or placing the frozen tub in warm water is definitely NOT recommended, as it can cause the salmon to lose flavor. If you must thaw your salmon quickly, place the frozen tub in a tray of cool water for 30-45 minutes, and then continue thawing in refrigerator.
Storing your Smoked Salmon Chowder
Our Chowder & Soup has a shelf life of approximately 4 years unopened, and can be stored for 3-5 days in the fridge once they have been opened. Think of the pouch like a “flexible can” – as long as the pouch is not punctured, leaking or opened, the product inside will stay good for at least 4 years. Even this is conservative, as long as the pouch is intact.
Storing your Lox Schmear
Freeze upon arrival. Scmear can be stored unopened in freezer for 6 months, unopened in fridge for 14 days, and once opened, it keeps for 2-3 days.
