I bought the Scalibut cakes in the 5 OZ size for my hubby and myself. They were wonderful for the summer and thankfully were all gone by the time that Hurricane Irma came calling. Great size for a meal; no shells, sweet-tasting and I came back for more. I definitely recommend them to all of my family and have sent some to my friends as an introduction to SeaBear.

Excellent, nicely seasoned scalibut cakes. They can keep the dipping sauce -- too sweet and cloying. It would be nicer as a ginger-soy sauce.

I love the scalibut cakes! For my budget, they are very expensive, but definitely worth it as a special treat. Unlike other reviewers, I did not care for the sauce at all; just mix blackstrap molasses w/ soy sauce and there you have it--a sticky sweet mess. These cakes are great w/ tartar sauce or a light soy-ginger sauce, like what Tessemae's makes.

dipping sauce is great!!! Trying to figure out the berry in the sauce!!! Can't wait to try on grill!!!!

We got the 6 pack and they were perfect as sliders - the dipping sauce was twangy - we mixed in some low-fat mayo to spread on the sliders and loved them. We supplemented the sliders with a delicious Salmon Chowder from SeaBear (also delicious) and started the meal with the SeaBear Salmon Shmear (also fantastic). Will have to settle for ordering these from SeaBear until we are lucky enough to visit the Pacific Northwest.

We bought these cakes as an appetizer with a glass of Chardonnay before our main fish meal on Fridays. Very meaty and a great taste with the wine. Will buy more when ordering other fish produts.

I have been to Cafe Olga for many years and have enjoyed their Scailbut cakes! I'm glad that I can purchase them online when I can't get to the west coast. I live in Florida and the cakes are fresh and delivered frozen when I purchase them in the summer months!

A deliciously rich combination of Alaskan Scallops and Alaskan Halibut, plus hand selected herbs and spices, in an easy to serve seafood cake

Individually hand made with an original recipe, these cakes were created back in 2004 at Café Olga, on Orcas Island, by owners Bobby Olmsted & Bev Simko. 

Easy to make, they're able to be enjoyed in many ways. Serve with a salad of mixed greens. Plate them up in pairs with a rice pilaf, risotto, or pasta side dish. Make a Scalibut Cake™ Sandwich on fresh toasted challah bread with lettuce, tomato, onion and aioli sauce. If the weather's nice, take it outside and make a Scalibut Cake™ Burger, complete with a side of steak fries and a crispy pickle spear.

Every order of Scalibut Cakes™comes with a pouch of Café Olga's exclusive Scalibut Cake™ dipping sauce

Thaw cakes in the refrigerator before cooking. We recommend pan-frying over medium heat with a light touch of olive oil. Let the pan heat up and then place Scalibut Cakes™ into pan. If you hear them sizzle just a bit the pan is hot enough. If not take them out and wait a minute or so. Flip cakes over after about 2 minutes of cooking.

Flip again after 2 minutes and repeat this step once more. Total cooking time will vary depending on stove temperature and style of frying pan. Approximate cooking time is 6-8 minutes or until desired texture. Cake will be golden brown and a little crunchy on the outside and tender and moist on the inside.

Serve with dipping sauce on the side. To make a tasty sandwich just mix a little dipping sauce with your favorite salad dressing and spread on toasted bread, lettuce, tomato, and onion and enjoy

Storing Your Scalibut Cakes™

Your Scalibut Cakes™ have been quick-frozen to lock in the flavor, and shipped to you on dry ice. Upon arrival, please freeze or refrigerate. These seafood cakes will keep in the freezer for approximately 3 months; once thawed please use within 1-2 days. Do not refreeze if it has been thawed longer than one day.
