Got my order mid-day today, placed two in the freezer and two in the fridge for dinner this evening. With my apartment’s electric range it took me a bit longer to sauté them than the online instructions called for. I accept that the online instructions is a guideline.

They sure were tasty!! Had them with a Knorr pasta side.

Excellent! Cooked two scalibut cakes per instructions. I placed each scalibut cake on top of a 1/4" Beefsteak tomato slice, added a little of the sauce on top, then chopped some fresh cilantro from my garden and sprinkled it on top.

After reading the reviews I was really excited about ordering the Scalibut Cakes. I had them in the freezer for several months which could have added to my disappointment because when I served them last night they were a bit fishy. Not fresh tasting. I've never been disappointed in the past with SeaBear.

OMG!!!! I CAN'T say enough about these cakes. They are to die for!!! I saw them in the catalog and wanted to try them and kept forgetting to do so. They looked incredible. When I finally ordered them and they came, I couldn't wait to try them. I thought I died and went to heaven!! They are sooo delicious! I definitely will be ordering again..The dipping sauce is awesome. My husband and I ate 2 each...w/o a bun of course. They are NOT "bun material"...at least we don't think so...You'd hide the deliciousness with a bun. Enjoy them all by themselves with the sauce!!! Yummm! Thank you Sea Bear for such a great product. I will definitely be ordering again in the very near future. BTW...I tell all of my friends to go online and order these

I have been to Cafe Olga for many years and have enjoyed their Scalibut cakes! I'm glad that I can purchase them online when I can't get to the west coast. I live in Florida and the cakes are fresh and delivered frozen when I purchase them in the summer months!

Scalibut Cakes™ have quickly become one of our customers' favorite new items - we've worked with our friends at Cafe Olga to offer these new JUMBO SIZE Scalibut Cakes™! They're 5 oz each, which is almost twice the size of our regular Scalibut Cakes™, big enough for hearty sandwiches and entree sized servings.

A deliciously rich combination of Alaskan Scallops and Alaskan Halibut, plus hand selected herbs and spices, in an easy to serve seafood cake

Individually hand made with an original recipe, these cakes were created back in 2004 at Café Olga, on Orcas Island, by owners Bobby Olmsted & Bev Simko. 

Easy to make, they're able to be enjoyed in many ways. Serve with a salad of mixed greens. Plate them up in pairs with a rice pilaf, risotto, or pasta side dish. Make a Scalibut Cake™ Sandwich on fresh toasted challah bread with lettuce, tomato, onion and aioli sauce. If the weather's nice, take it outside and make a Scalibut Cake™ Burger, complete with a side of steak fries and a crispy pickle spear.

Every order comes with a pouch of Café Olga's exclusive dipping sauce

Thaw cakes in the refrigerator before cooking. We recommend pan-frying over medium heat with a light touch of olive oil. Let the pan heat up and then place Scalibut Cakes™ into pan. If you hear them sizzle just a bit the pan is hot enough. If not take them out and wait a minute or so. Flip cakes over after about 2 minutes of cooking.

Flip again after 2 minutes and repeat this step once more. Total cooking time will vary depending on stove temperature and style of frying pan. Approximate cooking time is 6-8 minutes or until desired texture. Cake will be golden brown and a little crunchy on the outside and tender and moist on the inside.

Serve with dipping sauce on the side. To make a tasty sandwich just mix a little dipping sauce with your favorite salad dressing and spread on toasted bread, lettuce, tomato, and onion and enjoy

Storing Your Scalibut Cakes™

Your Scalibut Cakes™ have been quick-frozen to lock in the flavor, and shipped to you on dry ice. Upon arrival, please freeze or refrigerate. These seafood cakes will keep in the freezer for approximately 3 months; once thawed please use within 1-2 days. Do not refreeze if it has been thawed longer than one day.

Cakes – Halibut, scallops, roasted red peppers (peppers, water, salt, citric acid), panko bread crumbs (bleached wheat flour, dextrose, yeast, salt), liquid egg (whole eggs, citric acid, xanthan gum, guar gum, nisin [preservative]), green onion, cilantro, fish sauce (water, anchovy extract, salt, sugar), lime juice, garlic, chili pepper, black pepper.

Sauce – Red wine vinegar (red wine vinegar [diluted with water to 5% acidity], potassium metabisulfate [as a preservative]), brown sugar, lime juice, red chili pepper.
